Church Food Order

Project Overview

Church Food Order supports the Romanian community kitchen at Descent of the Holy Ghost. The project connects a public menu and customer ordering experience with the tools volunteers need to prepare food and organize Friday pickups.

The Challenge

Ordering needs to follow the kitchen's schedule: customers choose from a published menu, order before the cutoff, and collect their food on an available pickup date. Volunteers need a shared view of quantities and orders, while the public site needs to remain useful between menu releases.

Our Approach

We built the application around published monthly menus, pickup schedules, and order status. The green and cream visual design references a printed menu, with Romanian details and clear English instructions. Customer and administrative workflows use separate authenticated areas.

The Solution

The application includes account registration, menu browsing, a shopping cart, checkout, order history, and pickup-date selection. The implementation supports Stripe checkout and a Zelle payment flow. Administrative tools cover menus, categories, orders, kitchen preparation totals, and a pickup station for tracking collections. Supabase provides authentication and data storage.

Results

The deployed site explains the ordering rhythm and provides a central entry point for the community kitchen. The implemented workflow connects customer orders to preparation and pickup tools. Menu availability is seasonal; between releases the public site displays a clear message that the next menu is being prepared.
